PLACES TO RIDE
There are alot of great places to ride in the Oceanside/San Diego area. As we get a chance, we will list some of them here. Enjoy!
From the new racer to the seasoned pro, Kearny BMX is the place to get it done! A great track for beginning racers, as it has a mellow set up and a strong scene. Omega Bike Shop offers an ABA member discount and a great selection of racing bikes for ages 3-103. Get out there and go up against TEAM OMEGA.
San Luis Rey River Trail:
7.5 mile paved trail that runs from right near the shop to the beach. Start is located right off of College Blvd in Oceanside. This is a great ride for everyone since it is all paved and very mellow. Also, it goes UNDER all of the crossroads, so it is non-stop.

Lake Calavera Trails:
Located off of highway 78 and College Boulevard, you travel southbound until College "ends" in hard right corner. You can of course follow the road to the right (now called Cannon), but you don't want to. Instead you park on the opposite side of the road (to your left) in the dirt lot and begin your ride from there.
Calavera's Lake has a lot to offer, from bigger, scarier downhill sections on the edge of the mountain, to nice mellow trails in between. The lake is also pretty clean, and swimming is recommended. If you can find it, there is also a small waterfall trail and a rope swing scattered around the lake.
Take your mountain bike, explorer it and have fun. It won't disappoint.
